Lawn Seeding in Buford, GA
Most seeding we do is fescue aeration and overseeding in the fall. Cool-season fescue thins in Georgia summers. Putting seed down every fall, after the soil is opened with cores, is how that lawn stays thick instead of going backwards each year.

Fescue overseeding
• Aerate first so seed and water reach the soil. See core aeration.
• Scrape heavy moss before seeding if moss has taken over thin spots.
• Water the seedlings a few minutes about three times a day until they are a couple inches tall, then taper toward about 1 inch of water per week.
Bermuda, Zoysia, and Centipede
Warm-season lawns are not on that same fall overseed calendar. For Bermuda, Zoysia, and Centipede we recommend summer aeration and a strong weed control and fertilizer program. Spreading fescue seed into Bermuda in the fall is a different conversation — it can make a winter overlay, but it is not how we thicken Bermuda.

Seeding, not sod
We seed and overseed as part of aeration. We do not install sod. If you are putting in new sod, we can quote how the fertilizer and weed program should change after it is down.
